Cameroon
Travel like a local to the north-west of Cameroon and immerse yourself in the village life of Belo. Meet Joshua Chiamba, the charistmatic director of RUDEC Cameroon, and learn about their various initiatives that include micro-enterprising, organic farming and bee-keeping. Finish off the week with a trip to the Mbingo cliffs which offer spectactular views of the surrounding countryside and villages.
Dominican Republic
Head to the Dominican Republic and visit Batey communities with our partner Batey Rehab Project. Get involved in sustainable housing projects, engage in discussions concerning the rights of women and victims of human trafficking, explore Larimar mines (the only place in the world where Larimar stones can be found), and visit the surreal landscapes of Laguna Enquillo - the largest saltwater lake in the Dominican Republic.
Ecuador
Travel to Ecuador and visit our partner Sustainable Roots, based in the small village of Cosanga situated on the footsteps of the Andean mountains. Embark on a program participating in educational activities with the local children and learn about conservation and green initiatives. Take part in a night-time jungle photography excursion and sample a rich variety of cuisine, all prepared by a local chef!
Ghana
Africa beckons once again with an itinerary that takes you to Accra, the capital city of Ghana, on a program that combines photography workshops and documentary film-making carried out in conjunction with The Anidaso Nsae Foundation. Learn about the country's history with visits to various landmarks around the city including Independence Square, Osu Castle and Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.
For Intermediates wanting to reach the next level of visual storytelling, why not start here?
Bolivia
Your journey will take you to to Cochabamba in Bolivia, known as the 'City of Eternal Springs'. Participate in community development activities with our partner Bolivia Digna, learn about elements of storytelling in our photography workshops, collaborate and exchange ideas with local photography group Colectivo Tragaluz, and embark on a 2 day visit to the isolated national park of Torotoro, home to ancient dinosaur footprints and the extremely rare Red-Fronted Macaw.
Ghana
This is a highly intensive program that will allow participants to take part in activities run by both GRIKOB Foundation as well as affiliated partner organisations, which encompass visiting a total of 5 regions of Ghana by the end of the program. You will take part in NGO activities in various rural communities emphasizing the rights of women, in addition to visiting various historical and cultural sites including the Tongo Hills, Paga Crocodile Pond, and the ancient slave camp of Paga Nania in the Upper East Region.
